Meet Dr. Margaret

Dr. Margaret Archer, PT, DPT, NCS, PCES

Dr. Margaret graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2013 and has been practicing physical therapy in the Houston area ever since. She spent eight years at TIRR Memorial Hermann and developed a passion for pelvic physical therapy during her own pregnancy and postpartum journey with her first son.

In her free time, Dr. Margaret enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, and dog. She loves to travel, hike through the woods, and explore reefs while scuba diving. An avid exerciser, she enjoys fitness classes as well as walking and running on the hike and bike trail. She is active in her church and, alongside her husband, loves hosting friends and family in their home.

She believes pelvic health services are essential for women in all stages of life and is committed to breaking down barriers to care by offering both in-home and virtual visits.

Dr. Margaret's Approach

At Arrow Physio, she believes physical therapy is not just about treating injuries—it’s about empowering clients to take ownership of their health and well-being. She prioritizes education, prevention, and fitness to help clients achieve long-term, sustainable results. Her goal is to partner with you, help you reach your goals, and support you in becoming unstoppable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You do not need a referral for a physical therapy evaluation, as Texas is a direct-access state. We will assist with obtaining any required signatures from your medical provider for your plan of care.

Dr. Margaret earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating at the top of her class in 2016. She became a Neurologic Certified Specialist in 2017 after completing TIRR Memorial Hermann’s Neurologic PT residency. She completed her Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist certification in 2024 and her Pelvic Specialist certification through the Institute of Clinical Excellence in 2024.

Dr. Margaret is an out-of-network provider. This allows her to partner with you on your goals—not the limited goals your insurance may dictate. A cash-based model enables her to provide high-quality, individualized care with flexible payment options. Upon request, she can provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, and HSA funds may be used to pay for visits.

Dr. Margaret offers both in-home and virtual visits to reduce barriers to care by meeting you in the comfort of your home or through your laptop. She brings all necessary materials to your in-home or virtual appointment and provides the flexibility to switch between visit types throughout your plan of care.
Got a sick kiddo the morning of your appointment? Not a problem—we can quickly and easily switch to a teletherapy session!

A birth-preparation visit is a physical therapy appointment focused on helping you stay strong during pregnancy, prepare for labor and delivery, and understand what to expect in the early postpartum period. Together, you and Dr. Margaret will address your specific goals and equip you with the knowledge and confidence you need for this new season of life. These visits can be in-home or virtual and are an excellent way to establish care before transitioning into postpartum physical therapy.

We recommend beginning postpartum care with Dr. Margaret as early as 2–3 weeks after birth. During this first visit, she will assess your healing—including infection risk, scar healing, and overall recovery—and help you begin a gentle return to movement and exercise. There is no need to wait until six weeks to start PT if you are in pain or ready to become more active. Dr. Margaret loves supporting women during this uniquely important time.

A pelvic exam may include both an external and an internal assessment as part of a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation. These assessments help identify areas of weakness, tension, or coordination issues within the pelvic floor. While these components can be helpful, they are not required, and you will always be asked for consent before and during the exam. If you prefer not to have an internal exam, Dr. Margaret can coach you through a self-assessment in the comfort of your home.

Dr. Margaret offers virtual evaluations and treatment sessions to clients anywhere in Texas. Teletherapy allows us to achieve excellent results by coaching you, watching you move within your home environment, and partnering with you as you take an active role in your healing. Just like in-home visits, virtual sessions are personalized to your goals.
Teletherapy is an excellent option for anyone—especially those with busy schedules or those living outside Dr. Margaret’s driving distance.

You will receive a link and calendar reminder for your secure, HIPAA-compliant teletherapy appointment. All you need is a laptop or phone and enough space to move while we guide you through your program.
